Sunrise at Kelong Elly - Bintan Island, Indonesia

20150517_071033
After years of parting, we decided to have a high school mini reunion. We had few choices as Bintan Island provide range of resort and accommodations to cater every needs. From low, mid to high end.
We wanted a place that able to do BBQ and at the same time providing relaxing place where we can chat nonstop!
Thus, we choose the most affordable yet comfortable place in town, Kelong Elly.
Kelong means a form of offshore platform built predominantly with wood, which can be found in waters. Kelong Elly is very famous for their fishing. They provide on-site fishing as well as fishing trips. It is located at Trikora Beach KM 39, Teluk Bakau.

How to get there?
From Singapore you can take ferry about 2 hours from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to Tanjung Pinang (city of Bintan Island). From there land transportation by car is needed and it takes about 45mins to 1hour journey.
They also provide very affordable and clean accommodation.

Teluk Bakau Bay View Seafood Restaurant - Bintan Island, Indonesia

What's the most important sector when you are eating seafood? For me is the freshness and of course, price. Teluk Bakau Bay View Seafood restaurant offer meals over pondok  with Trikora beach view. Pondok means cottage or hut. You can even rent the pondok if you would like to have beach picnic. :)

Local peoples love to go there on weekend and public holiday. It has becomes one of the popular destination in Tanjung pinang, Bintan Island. Because its surrounded by sea hence most locals love beach.
Where is this Teluk Bakau Bay View Seafood Restaurant?
It is located along Trikora Beach Road; once you pass by a resort name Bintan Agro Resort, it is less than 1km from there. From city, it will be on your right side.

Here, offer one of the best seafood in town. Affordable yet did not compromise the quality. Recommended to have "remis' or we usually called "pepe". It is one type of clams/mussels.

Mango Sticky Rice @ Bangkok

A must eat item when we go to Thailand especially Bangkok - Mango Sticky Rice.
I usually will had it everyday on my trip at Bangkok
This time we went to Sukhumvit Soi 38 which is a street food located at BTS Thong Lor.
There have few stalls selling mango sticky rice with other dessert but highly recommended the one closer to the entrance of the street food if you coming from BTS exit.

The mango sticky rice available in two sizes with very affordable price if you compare with other places. However, the price doesn't compromise the quality. So, be ready to eat on the street at a wobbly metal table with cars dodging the carts and stalls that line the road.
P.S. This is one of the best mango sticky rice I had in Bangkok

Another mango sticky rice which I usually have it is at Platinum Mall Food court.
The portion is not as much as the one at Sukhumvit Soi 38 but I love the creative presentable of this
